Mr. Taro Kono: Public Lecture

Taro Kono, a Japanese politician in the LIberal Democratic Party (LDP), will be lecturing on how the LDP can meet the challenges of economic management and regional security in Japan.

Kono is a fifth term member of the House of Representatives (DIET) and he is currently serving as Director General of the Liberal Democratic Party's International bureau. Kono represents the 15th District of the Kanagawa Prefecture, which encompasses the cities of Chigasaki, Hiratsuka, Oiso and Ninomiya on the Sagami Bay.

Kono was born in Hiratsuka, Odawara, Kanagawa and he is a graduate from KEIO Senior High School in Japan and the Suffield Academy in Suffield, Connecticut. He then went on to graduate from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service. He also attended the Central School of Planning and Statistics (SGPiS) in Warsaw, Poland.
